Questions about Future Projects
What are you working on now?
Will there be a sequel to On Second Thought?
Do you have plans to move to the national market?
Have you considered LDS film?
What are you working on now?
I'm working on a collaborative project with another LDS humor writer, Matthew Buckley. It's kind of an experimental type of writing -- actually using wiki technology to get almost-instant feedback, editing, and comments. I'm sure as we get further into the project I'll be talking more and more about it.
I'm also working on an action/adventure novel, with a heavy archaeological bent.
Will there be a sequel to On Second Thought?
Nothing is in the works. However, if there ever was a sequel, I know what it would be about. But there are currently no plans to ever write it.
Do you have any plans of moving to the national market?
Yes, although that is still off in the vague distance. I am not currently working on any non-LDS books, nor do I even know which genre I would like to try tackling. However, I have the eventual goal of writing full-time, and, while that is possible in the LDS market, it's a lot more profitable in the national scene.
However, like I said, that's very very far down the road. And I don't think I ever would give up writing LDS books completely -- I enjoy it too much.
Have you considered LDS film?
I have thought a lot about it, and I'd really love to get into it. It's fast growing, and I can't wait to see the kinds of things LDS filmmakers will be producing in the next few years.
Mostly, though, I'd like to get into film because I see my stories in my head as I write, and though there's a lot to be said for painting pictures with words, I'd love for people to be seeing what I see.
If you have a question you'd like me to answer, email it to me at

people would be interested in, I'll put it up on the website.
