Chapter Thirty-One
Please don’t read too much into this, but the idea of crashing the car on purpose came to me a very long time ago—on my mission, in fact. In my first area—one that was very remote and barren—we had a Ford Ranger truck. Due to the fact that there was no back seat, the Ranger had a safety feature for putting baby seats in the front seat: you could turn off the passenger-side airbag. While driving one day, I jokingly turned it one day just to make my companion angry. But I’ve thought about it a lot since then. It seems like a really good way to kill someone—turn off their airbag, but leave yours on, and then crash into something.
