Achtung! Achtung!

Covenant Communications is pleased to announce a Murder Mystery Dinner! Is it a dinner for ‘Murder Mysteries’? Or is it a murderous dinner, with mysterious entrees? We’ll never know.

Okay. Yes we will: it’s the former.

Here’s the skinny: have you ever played one of those How To Host a Murder games, where six or eight dinner guests get to be characters, and, as the clues unfold, one of them is the murderer? Well, imagine that, but with 200 people instead of six, and, instead of unknown characters, they’re all from LDS novels! Sounds exciting, no?

Covenant has selected a handful of their best authors, who all happen to write mystery novels, and have brought them all together for this rare event. Each author has taken several characters from their recent books, and recklessly tossed them into the very-capable hands of some guy (I have no idea who it is), who has compiled all of those characters (some 200 or so) into one massive, DeMille-esque mystery (that I’m sure is very compelling and insightful). For a full list of authors, and the books from which their characters will be drawn, click here.

Of course, by “best authors”, I mean “a lot of really good authors, and a sorry sap who has only written one book—and a comedy at that.” So yours truly will be participating, acting out the part of whatever highwayman or brigand I happen to be cast as.

Also, since tickets will only be available to a limited number of guests (the ballroom only seats 200), there will also be a reception held prior to the dinner, where readers can meet authors and get their books signed, all 100% ticket-free. That’s right—you can come and hob-knob with the LDS literati for absolutely no charge. Seagull Books will have the various novels available for sale, should you feel inclined to purchase them, and the authors will be happy to sign anything that gets put in front of them. (Personally, I think I’ll be signing a lot of Betsy Brannon Green’s books, since they’re sure to sell better than mine. I hope she doesn’t mind that I’ll be sitting there, behind the Seagull booth, defacing her books.)

Anyway, here is the info:
