In my Countdown To Feb 12th, I’ve been showing a lot of embarrassing photos on Twitter. And what could be more embarrassing than a collection of all my dance photos from high school? (I think there are two dances missing from this collection. Not sure where those photos are.)

Sadie Hawkins my junior year. For this dance, no one was paired off: it was a group of five girls who asked a group of five guys. Kind of weird.

Junior prom my junior year. My favorite part of this photo: look how THRILLED my date is to be in this picture. ![]()

Homecoming my senior year. True story: my date was in a car crash on the way to respond to my invitation, and she hasn’t driven a car since.

Homecoming my senior year. May I point out I’m the only one in a tux. May I also point out my tie and cummerbund are METALLIC PINK.

Christmas dance, senior year. This is notable for being the Three Amigos: these were the guys I hung out with all senior year, and even worked with (at a crappy bakery job).

Junior Prom, senior year. This one is a weird one. I asked out this girl who I hardly knew who didn’t even go to our school or live in our city. She must have thought it was very odd. But I liked her.

Junior Prom, senior year. In case the photo’s not clear, we’re all checking our appearance in a compact.

Senior prom, senior year. May I just say: look at that stylish outfit. (This dance was supposed to be centennial based, because it was the 100 year anniversary of Utah becoming a state. But I think I was the only one who took it seriously.) (I was also the only one who worked at a theater and had access to a lot of costumes.)

That was not a crwppy bakery job! What could’ve been better? No supervision, no inventory, and pay above minimum wage. Plus we got to hang out for a couple of hours a day together.
I thought it was exactly minimum wage. But yes, the complete lack of supervision was a major plus.
Don’t forget the rum balls!
And the explosives!
Another favorite: I love the look on Steve Coles’ face in the Christmas dance picture. (He’s the one on the right.)
You’re brilliant! Put this stuff online yourself, and no one will ever be able to embarrass you with them later.
Aside from the ever-present tux and metallic pink, Steve’s face is my favorite.
What a handsome teenager! I love these–except the BYU shirt. That’s just embarassing.
Okay, totally cracking up at the whole dressing up special for the centennial prom thing because you had access to costumes. SO FUNNY. XD
