The Great New Mexico Road Trip, Day Three

2 Comments 08 October 2012

I spent the bulk of the day at a Rio Rancho middle school, talking to kids about writing. But I still managed to get a little sightseeing in.

Ristras of red chiles hanging in Old Town.

A side walkway through Old Town. It’s all a bit of a maze.

San Felipe de Neri Church. It’s interesting to note the comparison between this church (built of adobe and wood) and the Basilica in Santa Fe I saw yesterday (built ornately from stone).

The inside of San Felipe. If you look closely you can see the humbleness of this church again–that’s not marble, it’s wood crudely painted to look like marble.

On a completely different subject, this is Albuquerque–the home of Breaking Bad. There’s a candy shop that sells The Blue.

If I’d known you were going to Old Town I’d have had you pick me up a Balloon Fiesta Poster–I forgot to get one the other day. I’ll go back tomorrow, I guess. Glad you’re having a good time.
